Funding

Beaconsfield Neighbourhood Centre is funded by:
  • course & membership fees;
  • a grant from State government; and
  • a grant and rental assistance from Cardinia Council.
State government funding Beaconsfield Neighbourhood Centre has entered into a 3 year funding agreement with the Department of Planning and Community Development, which provides funding through the Neighbourhood House Coordination Program to assist with the employment of a Coordinator and related costs to:
  • Provide a balanced mix of service delivery and community strengthening hours.
  • Promote program participation.
  • Be open for at least as many hours as the Neighbourhood House Coordination Program provides coordination funding for (currently 20 hours).
  • Aim to provide at least twice as many activity hours as the Neighbourhood House Coordination Program provides coordination funding for.
Funding is provided on a financial year basis, through grants paid quarterly in advance at the commencement of each quarter. Funding is recurrent, subject to satisfactory performance in relation to the funding agreement. To maintain funding Beaconsfield Neighbourhood Centre is required to report to Department of Planning and Community Development at 6 monthly intervals, develop an annual plan, and provide an annual financial statement. Cardinia Council funding Cardinia Council provides funding to assist with the operation of Centre, as well as providing the building at nominal rental. Under the funding agreement Beaconsfield Neighbourhood Centre must:
  • Provide a half yearly performance report.
  • Provide a business plan.
  • Provide an Annual General report.
  • Provide an annual performance report.
