Evacuation Procedures

In the event of a fire or discovery of smoke, volunteers should notify the nearest staff member immediately. No volunteer should risk personal safety by trying to put out fire.

Should the alarms go off, volunteers should go to the nearest exit and evacuate the building immediately. No attempt should be made to finish current tasks or to find personal belongings. All volunteers should then wait with staff outside the building until the role has been called and they have been accounted for. No-one should leave the vicinity until that time.

If required for their volunteering role, volunteers will be requested to obtain a Police Check or a Working with Children Check.
